-Sunday. September 6, 2026. Pope Saint Eleutherius was born in Nicopolis, Greece, some time after 100 AD. His father was in service to the emperor, and his mother raised him, and he shared her beliefs. His name means “frank, honest, free-spirited.” A wonderful simplicity and spirit of compunction were the distinguishing virtues of the holy man Eleutherius. He was chosen abbot of St. Mark’s near Spoleto, and favored by God with the gift of miracles. A child who was possessed by the devil, being delivered by being educated in his monastery, the Abbot said one day: “Since the child is among the servants of God, the devil dares not approach him.” These words seemed to savor of vanity, and thereupon the devil again entered and tormented the child. The Abbot humbly confessed his fault, and fasted and prayed with his whole community till the child was again freed from the tyranny of the fiend. St. Gregory, the Great, not being able to fast on Easter-eve on account of extreme weakness, engaged this Saint to go with him to the church of St. Andrew’s and offer up his prayers to God for his health, that he might join the faithful in that solemn practice of penance. Eleutherius prayed with many tears, and the Pope, coming out of the church, found that he was enabled to perform the fast as he desired. It is also said that Eleutherius raised a dead man to life. Resigning his abbacy, he died in St. Andrew’s monastery in Rome about the year 585. Many other miracles were said to have happened through the help of the prayers of Saint Eleutherius during and after his time in the monastery. (Maridol: My Morning Prayer)

WORD Today. Matthew 18:15-20. Jesus said to his disciples: “If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone… If he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, so that ‘every fact may be established on the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ If he refuses to listen to them, tell the church. If he refuses to listen to the church, then treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector. Amen, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again, amen, I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything for which they are to pray, it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Catholic Daily Readings – Lectionary)
Reflection. The words of the Popes. If my brother sins against me, I must treat him charitably and first of all, speak to him privately, pointing out that what he has said or done is wrong. This approach is known as “fraternal correction.”In today’s Gospel, Jesus points to a gradual approach: first, speak to him again with two or three others; if he refuses to listen, tell the community; and if he refuses to listen, he has cut himself off. Jesus said: where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Personal prayer is indispensable. (Pope Benedict XVI, Angelus, 4 September 2011)
You must forgive as a Catholic but not forget that he is a narcissistic congenital pathological liar, an enabling child who believes that he has the right of a Viking King, because born the eldest his living siblings, to disadvantage, ignoring the family Code of the Philippines, July 17, 1987, because his mother hearsay told him, that of the properties he wants, and by his public charity justified his narcissism. Charity is no substitute for justice withheld. (St, Augustine). – Tony C
